Overview of Interest Areas, Circles, Committees, Teams, and Tasks
We use the following terms:
Interest Area: a collection of related Committees, Circles, Teams, and Tasks. Each of the seven Interest Areas at UUFSM has a Board Liaison.
Circle: a group of people who gather to pursue a shared interest, learn something, talk, share their thoughts and feelings, or just have fun.
Team: a group of people who work together to accomplish a complicated task or a set of related tasks, usually formed ad hoc. Headed by a Team Leader.
Committee: a standing committee with a specific task. The Nominating and the Endowment Committees are specified in the bylaws
Job or Task: usually done by one or two people, gets its own page of procedure
