Truth Seekers

The Truth Seekers class is for Middle and High School students, grades seven through twelve.  The class usually meets on the first and second Sundays of each month and attends worship services on the other two weeks. Schedules can vary; please check the calendar.

In keeping with this year's Lifespan Religious Education theme, "Becoming and Being a UU," the class has chosen the curriculum "Exploring Our Values Through Poetry." Participants will discover the ways poetry illuminates human experience, recognize commonalities among the many spiritual journeys, and explore poetry writing as a spiritual practice.  If the class decides to do so, there will be an opportunity to use the self-written poetry in a worship service late in the year.

Monthly YRUU activities will be planned during the Truth Seekers class (see "Events").  We traveled to Busch Gardens for Howl-O-Scream in October and attended the disctrict YRUU Conference, "JoUUrny Towards TrUUth" at the First UU Church in Baltimore.  Other activities could include movie nights, or going to local concerts, dances, or museums, or anything we decide among ourselves.  We are planning a heritage trip to Boston for Spring Break on Easter weekend (April 2-4) and may attend Union Sunday together at First UU in Baltimore (May 2nd) to learn about and celebrate the origins of Unitarianism in the United States.
