The Truth Seekers class is for Middle and High School students, grades seven through twelve.  The class usually meets twice per month and attends worship services the reemaining weeks. Schedules can vary; please check the calendar.

In keeping with this year's Lifespan Religious Education theme, "Religions of the World" we will be using the curriculum "Neighboring Faiths." Participants will be introduced to the faith traditions, values and practices of other religious groups in the wider community.  Leaders and student participants together plan their program, determining which religious groups they want to learn about, visit, and relate to their growing Unitarian Universalist faith.  It engages participants in a religious journey which invites the participation of parents, UUFSM members and religious education leaders, and leaders and members of the surrounding religious communities.   The journey builds community among the youth, increases their understanding and appreciation of religious diversity, connects them with their own congregation within the larger community, and strengthens their UU identity.

Monthly YRUU activities will be planned during the Truth Seekers class (see "Events").  Last year we traveled to Busch Gardens for Howl-O-Scream in October and attended the disctrict YRUU Conference, "JoUUrny Towards TrUUth" at the First UU Church in Baltimore.  Other activities included movie nights and helping to plant a garden at the homeless shelter.  We a;sp attended Union Sunday at First UU in Baltimore to learn about and celebrate the origins of Unitarianism in the United States.

A Thought for the Day

"There is a little plant called reverence in the corner of my soul's garden, which I love to have watered once a week."
