September 2011 Board Meeting Highlights

• The policy for posting Board minutes is still under review.  Comments to secretary [at] uufsm [dot] org prior to Oct 12th appreciated.  See the separate news item for specifics.
• The board discovered a significant bill payment and oversight mistake.  We have been underpaying our worship space lease.  The board deeply regrets the mistake and is meeting our obligation. Please contact any board member for details.
• Urban legend debunked:  Our insurance does not prohibit having alcoholic beverages at our functions.
• Our ministerial search committee currently has no members.  An informational/recruitment meeting will be scheduled in the very near future.  If you have any interest in the committee (participant, advisor, observer, contributor), please contact Barbara (or any member of the board).
• Katy is organizing a field trip or two to DC to visit the Martin Lurther King Jr Memorial and sights relevant to the women's suffrage movement.  
• She is also facilitating a possible startup of a PFLAG chapter, if there is interest.  PFLAG (www.pflag.org) is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to the health and well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender persons, their families and friends.
