Curriculum: In Our Hands 1-3
In Our Hands: A Peace and Social Justice Program is structured to accomplish the following goals:
In Unit I, The children explore their knowledge and feelings about intrapersonal and interpersonal issues of peace and justice--the childrens' individual relationships with family and friends at home, in school, and in the congregation.
In Unit II, the children gain awareness and understaning about peace, fairness, conflict, and unfairness in thier lives.
In Unit III, the children gain skills for promoting peace and fairness in their daily lives.
In Unit IV, the children explore their attitudes toward and feelings about nature and increase their awareness and understanding of the importance of acting fairly and peacefully in relation to nature.
In Unit V, the children learn about the lives of several Unitaritan Universalist who have made contrubutions to peace and fairness in the world.
