New Orleans clarinetist, Evan Christopher, and his jazz ensemble, Clarinet Road, will present a public performance at All Souls Church, Unitarian. The ensemble will include bassist Marshall Hawkins, a native of Washington, DC who will be making a brief DC homecoming visit from the West Coast. The concert is part of the All Souls-New Orleans Jazz Fest Series, established in 2009 as a means of bringing New Orleans' unique culture to Washington, DC.
Tickets: $20/per person; $10/per senior or student
Group discounts are available. Proceeds will benefit the church's New Orleans ministry, which was initiated in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, and has since conducted six service trips to that city's Lower Ninth Ward.
