

To help foster a loving, caring community, everyone is invited to share information about events and activities that are UU or Fellowship related, of general interest to members, or have a member actively involved in them. Examples include a UUFSM Committee meeting, a workshop sponsored by JPD, a TV or radio show about a legislative topic of interest or a noteworthy person, a book or movie review, or a community event that you’re actively involved in. If you wish place an announcement about offering items for sale (including school or scout fundraisers) please get the Board’s approval first.
There are several ways to share information, listed here in order of maximum to minimum exposure.
- Online: All members and friends have accounts at our website and may post EVENTS and NEWS ITEMS there. Please make sure they are Fellowship-related.
- UUFSM Announcements and Newsletter: All online announcements are automatically included in our newsletter (1st Sunday) and announcements (3rd Sundays). Fellowship activities have priority when space is limited. You may also send information to bulletin [at] uufsm [dot] org by the 2nd or 4th Wednesdays. The UUFSM Newsletter and Announcements are available in hardcopy on Sundays and are sent via email to our newsletter subscribers.
- Spoken Announcement on Sunday Mornings: These announcements should be about events happening that day or within the next week. They should be made during the closing circle, after singing “From you I Receive”. Please keep them brief and encourage people to talk to you for details.
- Printed Flyers Everyone is welcome to hand out flyers, posters, and registration forms and to place them in the black Activities binder on the Information Table. Solicitation for a business or the selling of items must be cleared with the Board. Please remember to remove outdated flyers and recycle. Communications Committee is responsible for overseeing this binder.
