Highlights from November 2011 Board Meeting

Treasurer’s Report – Pledge income and charity donations coming in on schedule. All bills are paid. Investment funds dipped in October but are recovering. $266.28 was collected for October charity of UU Sunday.

Policy Revision for Board Highlights: The board voted unanimously to adopt the changes in sharing Board Highlights and Minutes: "The minutes from all board meetings shall be available upon request to members. Contact the Secretary for current year or the prior year’s minutes. Older minutes are archived with the Secretary and/or Historian. Highlights from every Board Meeting shall be in the newsletter."

Policy review for Emergency Cancellation: The board agreed to the proposed updates in the policy on Emergency Cancellation. These updates will be shared with members via the December newsletter and the website. Any comments should be sent to the board before their next Board Meeting: December 14.

“Among Ourselves” News Since our newsletters are posted online, to preserve privacy personal news from members and friends will be sent via direct email, not in the newsletter. Cards and letters sent to UUFSM will be announced in the email and be available for viewing on the information table on Sunday mornings. The board composed a preliminary reply to the Kelleys for their card sent in October. Addendum: Final wording of the reply was handled through email, and the card was mailed on 16 November. 

Updates to Policies and Procedures Manual: Board members are reviewing the “Policies and Procedures" Manual. Please contact Area Liaisons for with your comments and suggestions before December 5.

Fellowhip Retreat: The board began planning the Winter Fellowship Retreat. The date has been changed from 7 January to 21 January. POC: Katy Boyd.
