Guided Tour of the National Museum of the American Indian
We will meet in the parking lot of the Chesapeake Charter school at 8:45 and will caravan to the museum on the National Mall. Optional is to meet the group at the NMAI entrance just before 11AM, but call Jackie so she knows to look for you there. Cell number for re-grouping purposes: 240-434-2111
We have reserved a spot with a guide to take us on a tour of the museum. Other possible activities at the museum include the orientation film "Who We Are," an introduction to the diversity of contemporary Native life and the themes and messages encountered throughout the museum. Also in July (only): "Native American Veterans: Storytelling for Healing." Nine Native veterans tell singular, personal stories about their experiences serving in World War II, Vietnam, the Gulf War, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. The special event that day is "All Hands on Design! Native Designers from Argentina," with a related film.
