"Good Neighbor" Letter to UUCC
At the annual meeting in June 2010, members and friends of the Fellowship agreed they would like to have better relations with our UU neighbors at the UU Congregation of the Chespeake (UUCC). During the month of June, the Board had prepared a letter and sent it to members for review. It was about to be mailed when we received a letter from UUCC. Our letter was then revised to include a response to their letter, reviewed again, and mailed to UUCC on 17 August 2010. Individual copies were sent to the UUCC minister, board members, and committee on ministry, and copies were also sent to Michael Relland, the Rev. Fred Muir of Annapolis, Mike Harris of JPD, and the Rev. Dr. Richard Speck of JPD.

Dear Lori, Fred, Yvonne, Ellis, Denise, Eliza, Linda, Harold, and Alice,
Thank you for your letter of June 28. It is good to know that both our congregations want to honor our unique identities and are also interested in developing a mutually respectful relationship with each other. We had prepared a letter on the same topic and were about to mail it to you when we received your letter.
Please know that we at the Fellowship are open to working with you, our fellow Unitarian Universalists, on common interests and goals so that we both further grow in our distinct identities.
We look forward to hearing from you when you decide that UUCC is ready to engage in a conversation or participate in a project with the people at UUFSM. We hope to be good neighbors for years to come.
Sincerely,
James Stubbs, UUFSM Board Chair
on behalf of the members of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Southern Maryland
