Daylight Savings Time on March 13. Spring Ahead and set your clock forward 1 hour!

Stepping Forward, Moving Ahead

It's February, and although we're in the middle of winter, it's already time to start planning for the next church year.  This is especially important this year as we will definitely be having changes in leadership for 2010-2011.  In June, after three years as Board Chair, I will no longer be on the Board. After three years of dedication, hard work, and creativity, Liz Crosby will be stepping down as leader of the Worship committee. Other changes will be happening.

We'll be holding several activities to help us focus on what we want to do, how we will get there, and who will make different things happen.

  • Sun., Feb 14: UUFSM Town Hall: The Ongoing Search for Movers and Shakers  (after the service)
  • Sat., Feb 27: Winter Retreat: The Future of the Fellowship (Annmarie Gardens on Saturday, February 27 from 10:00-1:00)
  • Sun., Feb 28: Anniversary Brunch and Canvass Kickoff  (potluck meal after the Agape Service. Sign up to host a table!)
  • Sun., Mar 14: "The Gift of Giving" Worship Service (10:30-11:30) "Time, Talent, and Treasure" Forms handed out
  • Sun., Mar 28: Canvass ends  All forms should be handed in by this date.
  • Sundays in April and May: Interest Groups (Social Justice, Finance & Planning, Communication, etc.) will meet after the services to discuss goals for the coming year.

Please plan on attending these important activities, and please think about what this Fellowship means to you, how your life would be different if it didn't exist, and what you can do to help keep it alive and thriving.  In a group of people, if no one steps forward, then no one in the group can move.

See you on Sundays!

Janeen Grohsmeyer, UUFSM Board Chair

PS: Don't forget: Budget Requests are due to Carl by February 7th!

A Thought for the Day

Don't worry that your children never listen to you. Worry that your children are always watching you.
