December 2011 Board Meeting Highlights
Board Business
- Policy and Procedures Manual updates are sought. This document is the corporate knowledge or clearinghouse for “how it is done” information in the Fellowship.
- New policy for Emergency Cancelation was adopted.
- Planning of UUFSM Winter Retreat underway.
Interest Area Reports
Finance
- Budget inputs are due 1 February. Start thinking about the needs for your interest areas.
Religious Education
- Rolina and Evilla are doing a great job supporting our children!
- The adult RE class, Building Your Own Theology, is being planned for January 2013.
- The UU Life / UU World sessions have been well attended are expected to continue into the next year (2012-2013).
- A lead for the Religious Education interest area is needed. Contact Corinne or any board member if you are interested in taking on this vital role in the Fellowship.
Communications
- Continued our affiliation with the Chesapeake UU Growth Committee and gave a small financial contribution.
Sunday Mornings
- Guest speakers: Russ Savage wil be with us on 2nd Sunday in January, Elaine Silver will be joining us on the last Sunday of January.
- Christmas Eve service being planned with the Society of Friends in Calvert County
Fellowship Builders
- Holiday greeting cards were sent to Rev. Mike Relland, the Kelleys, Rolina, Evilla, and UU organizations.
- DATE CHANGE: The Canvass Dinner is being planned for Saturday February 25th at the Wildewood Lodge.
- Retreat planning for January 21st is well underway. Workshops on end of life topics are planned. Location is TBD.
Social Justice
- This year’s Guest At Your Table campaign has kicked off and concludes in January.
- Gloves were collected for the Three Oaks Center for Christmas.
- A food drive will be done in February.
- PFLAG chapter start-up assistance continues.
The January board meeting is planned for 11 January. Location TBD.
