"Building Your Own Thelogy" Class starts in January
Building Your Own Theology (BYOT), an eight-week course created by the Unitarian Universalist Association, will again be offered and facilitated by Steve Nystrom, Charles Walsh, and Jim Stubbs (when he is not working in Paris, France).

Why have such a program? With only 15% of present day UU’s actually raised in the tradition, most of us obviously come from some other religious background. We come to Unitarian Universalism for many reasons, but most are looking for community and ways to rebuild their faith based on the Seven Principles. You might rightly ask, “How am I supposed to go about doing this?” The course materials provide tools to construct a meaningful theology based on your own experiences and common values in the UU community.
Come join us in this exploration. The program will last eight consecutive weeks, with a possibility of a few breaks, and participants should commit to all eight sessions with an agreed upon schedule. The curriculum is designed for new members and others who are considering membership, but all are welcome; even those who have previously participated in BYOT. The optimum class size is 6-9 people.
We will be meeting in the lounge area of the Senior Center, after the Sunday services, at noon. There will be a brief organizational meeting after the December 13 service, with the course starting on January 3rd. Each session will last a maximum of two and a half hours. Bring a bag lunch. The cost will be $20 per person to help defray the cost of materials. Please contact Steve, Charlie, or Jim if you are interested.
