Planting Day at Three Oaks Garden: RESCHEDULED TO THURSDAY
(Rescheduled to Thursday evening, May 11, when the weather should be nicer)
Join us in the cool of the evening to plant vegetables and herbs in the Three Oak Garden! Please bring gardening gloves, tools, mosquito repellant, and a hat and bring something to drink.
We have watermelon, cantalope, peppers (hot and sweet), tomatoes (cherry and big), and a few other things to plant. Hope you can come on Thursday!
Contact Mary Flood or Ethan for more details.
May is Music Appreciation Month at UUFSM!
When the roof fell in on our former home and we moved into our new space at the Charter School, we soon realized that our Fellowship needed a piano! At the Music Committee's request, the Board authorized us to purchase an electric keyboard. With the expert advice of Alan Newhouse, that was accomplished and UUFSM now owns a beautiful electric piano. The funds for the purchase came from our Rainy Day Fund (a.k.a. Snow-Storm Slush Fund). In order to re-pay the Slush Fund, May has been designated Music Appreciation Month.
UUFSM's Charitable Giving Exceeds Goal
All non-pledge donations from the Offertory are given to charities, and we send to a different charity each month. The Fellowship's goal is to give an amount equal to 10% of all pledged income.
With two months left to go, the Fellowship has exceeded its goal of donating $3120. Our donations for the year already total $3618! Shall we aim for $4000?
Annual Reports are Due!
All Committee and Teams should either send their Annual Report to board1 [at] uufsm [dot] org by today, or be ready to talk about it. If we don't get your written report, we'll be calling you for a verbal summary. Annual Reports will be distributed on May 23.
Minister's Letter
A few weeks ago I ran across a poem during one of those moments where it was really needed. It turns out, the words below are always needed. Read it and see...
