Most of us have probably pondered the question: "What happens when I die?"  Our answers have likely been as different and varied as we are.

A Hands on Visual Art Workshop for Day of the Dead will take place on Saturday November 7, 2009 from 10am-1pm at Davies Memorial Unitarian Universalist Church, 7400 Temple Hill Rd, Camp Springs MD. The public is invited.

The purpose of this Involve workshop is to train religious educators, ministers and lay leaders to minister to children with special challenges and insure their successful inclusion into the life of our UU congregations. Topics will include assessment methods, teaching strategies, sensitivity training, hands-on training activities, and discussions concerning pastoral and congregational care.

The November 2009 charity was chosen in support of Greg Mortenson's herculean efforts to build schools for children in Afghanistan and Pakistan as told in his book Three Cups of Tea. Education of girls is a particular need, as education for them was illegal under the Taliban. His organization builds, staffs, payrolls, and supplies each school.  He and his personnel have faced many hardships, dangers, and political hurdles to bring education to the rural mountains of both countries. Please be generous for this worthy cause.
