Needed! Bulletin Creators

We are in urgent need of people to create our Sunday Orders of Service.  The task requires downloading the information from our website, formatting it nicely to fit on one piece of paper, and then emailing it to Staples for printing. Creating bulletins can be done from home using your computer, and takes about 1 hour or so a week, done on a Wednesday or Thursday.

Reception with UUA President Rev. Peter Morales and other special guests at Universalist National Memorial Church. Meet other UUs and get ready for the March! We'll be selling snazzy, highly visible Standing on the Side of Love T-Shirts (only $15 each), and giving away signs & buttons. And we'll have a "make your own sign" stations for all you who want to get creative.

 

National Equality Social Justice Panel in DC

Learn about how you can create and sustain grassroots social justice initiatives for LGBT equality in your local community. We'll also discuss ways that congregations can work with allied organizations (i.e. other affirming, welcoming congregations and agencies) to build social justice partnerships.

Summary: 
The students will explore the concept of inner peace by using meditation/visualization to create a personal "special place" and they will hear stories about Gautama Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi.

Summary: 
Sometimes teachers (and teachings) come in unlikely forms. We will use poetry to explore our relationships as learners to lifetime teachers and spiritual guides, both human and non-human.....Teachers open the door. You enter yourself (Chinese Proverb)

Truth Seekers: Keenly Observing Nature (25 Oct)

Summary: 
Today we will consider our spiritual connections to nature. In our busy world, it can be difficult to find time to explore nature. Part of the class may be held outside, weather permitting.....Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. (Rachel Carson)

Truth Seekers: Surprised by Beauty (11 Oct)

Summary: 
Today's class focuses on our experience of beauty. Taking time to appreciate the beautiful is one way to renew the sense of awe and wonder that our spirits need. We will do a guided meditation, and will have the opportunity to design opening and/or closing rituals for future classes.....The glory of youths is their strength, but the beauty of the aged is their grey hair (Proverbs 20:29)
